Dr. Peter Eley
Dr. Peter Madison Eley was born in Henderson, NC on December 2, 1977, the oldest of
five children to Lemuel and Wanda Eley. Peter attended and graduated from Southern
Vance High School in June 1996. He attended Elizabeth City State University, where he
graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Pure Mathematics in May 2000. He attended
graduate school immediately after undergrad at North Carolina State University and
earned Master Degrees in Applied Mathematics in 2002 and Mathematics Education in
2008. In 2011 he completed his education earning a PhD in Mathematics Education from
North Carolina State University.
Dr. Eley taught mathematics and science at Eaton Johnson Middle School in 2002. He
also taught mathematics at South Granville High School in 2002-2003. Peter worked as
the Data Manger/Webmaster for Saint Augustine College in Raleigh, NC 2003-2005. He
later relocated to Winston-Salem, NC to work at Winston-Salem State University to serve
as the Mathematics and Science Education Pre-College Program Coordinator 2005-2010.
Dr. Eley currently serves at Fayetteville State University as Assistant Professor of
Mathematics Education 2010-2015. He has recently been promoted to Associate
Professor of Mathematics Education and has obtained tenure status. Dr. Eley is a
research fellow at Boston University’s MICCR Institute for Career and College
Readiness. He has authored several published manuscripts and book chapters and is
world-renounce researcher. He is constantly presenting his work at conferences and
schools around the country.
Dr. Eley has been saved and baptized in the name of Jesus and received the Holy Ghost at
age 15. He later answered the call to full time ministry in 2005 and was ordained under
Pastor Leroy Kelly of Christ Temple Church in Winston-Salem, NC. He served as youth
Pastor at Greater Ransom Way of the Cross Church for 3 years. He is the founder of
Finding Fish Ministries and Da Jesus Project Publishing, Inc. Additionally he is the
author of “The Fasting Chronicle Growing from Milk 2 Meat” (2010) a book that inspires
hope and self-improvement through Christ and also has a weekly radio show that airs
every Sunday morning.
